Prithunandan Ghose

Hi I am Prithunandan, aka Prithu at Bochhor Koori Porey. My love for theatre, developed in the early eighties, In early nineties, I took part in the play, “Schweik Gyalo Juddhey”, directed by Bibhash Chakraborty of ‘Anya Theatre’, Kolkata. In 1993, I established a Theatre group, “Kathik” and directed its very first production, the very next year, which continued to be staged till 1997. After nearly twenty years, I created “Bachhor Koori Porey” and produced a series of plays including “EBONG ANDHOKAR” (2015), “ADHORA” (2016), “PRIYOTAMASU” (2019) and “ITIKAWTHA” (2022). Apart from directing, I am a playwright, write lyrics and scores for the songs, design stagecraft and create background scores. I am a graduate in Civil Engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata and Director at an engineering consultancy company.
